Rheingau... a magic word! Wine connoisseurs at the turn of the century before last knew the Rheingau as the home of the most expensive wines in the world. These Riesling wines were appreciated around the globe for their inimitable elegance and richness and Rheingau wine even carried seals of royal approval. Unfortunately, the wars of the 20 th century destroyed this renown, but the natural world class of the wine is still very much in evidence. After all, the topography and microclimate have not changed since then.
