we own 1.7 acres of this vineyard grape variety: 100% Riesling
Site and soil: The site is named after the "Rosenhecken", the rose hedges which, in the olden days, frequently used to be found on the steeply terraced terrain. The soil of the south-facing Berg Roseneck vineyard with a 60 degree slope, which consists of quartzite from the Taunus hills and reddish shale, manages, year after year, to produce mildly spicy, racy and mineral Riesling wines.
Character: The wines tend to be playful and even vigorous; yet, even in their younger years, they boast refined elegance and playful zest. Ample peach and apricot notes lend the wine a mild fruitiness. Hints of acidity ensure playfulness and delicate finesse.
