We strive to give voice to the character of each site through the wines it produces. Our goal is to harvest and vinify only healthy, fully ripened grapes, reflected not least in our intense focus on optimal air circulation among the grape clusters. Even when machines and tractors are used, we are mindful of low-impact measures and emissions reduction.

Selective pre-harvest and crop thinning of the Spätburgunder also factor into our quality-oriented winegrowing philosophy. We pick primarily by hand and run as late in the season as nature allows. This near-obsession with 100% healthy grapes and maximum physiological ripeness is the foundation upon which our wines are built.
